Just some of the things we’ve folded at past meetups…
An informal monthly meet-up for origami folders of all levels from novice (just starting out who’d like to learn) to experienced/advanced folders.
Beginners: Come learn how to fold with Stacie Tamaki who will teach beginner level folds during the first hour of each meetup. Please arrive on time if you want to learn so that the entire starting group can move through the same models together.
Intermediate and Advanced: Members are welcome to bring along a project they are working on and come fold socially.
Techniques: If you would like to learn a specific technique that I personally use (like how to hang cranes into strands, how I cut paper smaller, etc.) please message me at least a week ahead and I will bring appropriate supplies and reserve 11:00-11:30 to walk you through how I do things step by step.
Ages: Children of all ages are welcome to attend but 8 years old is the recommended youngest age. All children and teenagers do need to be accompanied by an adult (parent or guardian) for all ages up to 18 years old.
Paper: Any type of paper can be used. Members are encouraged to bring their own paper including (but not limited to) origami paper. Small packets of authentic origami paper will be provided at each meet-up for those who forget or don’t have access to origami paper.
Cost: There is no charge to attend and I also provide origami paper when needed.
RSVP: Please RSVP using the form below.
The founder of the folding club is origami artist Stacie Tamaki. West Michigan Origami is a not-for-profit club but not a formal 501(c)(3).
Please Use the form below to be added to the member's list (AND to rsvp when meetups resume)
